I watch a lot of Youtube. It's basically replaced television for me and one of the many things that I love about it is the sheer variety of content that's available. You can find videos on just about every conceivable subject and, since I'm something of an information addict, I also really appreciate that many of those videos are educational. They make it possible to learn about pretty much every conceivable subject and you can learn about many of them from today's recommendation.
Created by John & Hank Green, Crash Course features several series of educational videos on a wide range of subjects including physics, economics, philosophy, astronomy, chemistry, literature, history, biology and many others. Each new video in a series is released weekly and, while most are hosted by one of the Green brothers, some are hosted by experts in the field like Phil Plait, and Dr. Shini Somara, among others. The videos on Crash Course are thoroughly researched, written & presented in a way that makes the subject accessible and keeps the it interesting without ever talking down to the viewer and they're all interspersed with unique graphics and animation that make the material all the more enjoyable and memorable. There's even a Crash Course Kids for younger viewers, that features videos on science and engineering, so no matter your age or interests, you're bound to find a subject that you'd like to learn more about.
If there's a movie, band, podcast or any other media that you'd like me to check out for possible inclusion on the rec list, please contact me and let me know about it.
